| Hey guys.....is anyone here a soccer fan? Anybody wearing a team jersey every day of their lives? If so, this is the thread for you. I will be the first to start the world cup hype...by saying....ITALY, SPAIN, PORTUGAL, ENGLAND, and more not-so-well-known teams are OUT of the world cup. So, I'm gonna start a betting system. Calm your horses gentlemen, we're not putting any money on the line! Once the results come out, I will list matches, just post who you think will win and score. The winner is worth the points, score is just for fun. 2 points for predicting correctly, 1 point for a draw, and no points for picking incorrectly.
Our first matches are.....(round of 16)
BRAZIL vs CHILE (South american battle!)
COLOMBIA VS URUGUAY (more South Americans!)
NETHERLANDS VS MEXICO (overseas)
COSTA RICA VS GREECE (can the Greeks continue their streak?)
FRANCE VS NIGERIA (France on a roll, but Nigeria proved deadly against Argentina)
So, just post which teams do you think will win...preferably in a format such as this:
BRAZIL def. CHILE (def. means defeated)

| I'm telling you guys, Ochoa's save was pure luck. Netherlands is a really strong team.
3 more matches for our soccer fans:
ARGENTINA vs SWITZERLAND
BELGIUM vs USA
ALGERIA vs GERMANY
A shocker for some: Portugal is out....but Ronaldo did score once.

| Wait, wait, wait. Ochoa's saves wasn't only "luck"; He is getting really better. I'm sure he will demostrate in the next match it wasn't luck what he did. I believe Mexico, have a opportunity .
Of course Netherlands is one of the best teams in this world cup. |

| The final match of the World Cup has come yet again. This time, it's between Germany and Argentina. Germany hasn't been there since 2002, and Argentina since 1990. The last time these 2 teams met in a final was in 1990. Germany one 1-0. So, will Germany increase their world cup quota to 4 and tie Italy, or will Argentina exact revenge from 24 years ago? Some interesting player matchups I found in the final.
Lionel Messi vs Thomas Muller Angel DiMaria vs Mesut Ozil Sergio Romero vs Manuel Neuer Andre Schurrle vs Gonzalo Higuain Maxi Rodriguez vs Toni Kroos
And many more...
So, who will win? Cast your votes and I'll post the highlights LIVE!

| Everything so far.
Here's the kickoff, nothing special now.
19th Minute - Here's Higuain with a chance....no! It's gone off wide.
30th Minute - Messi's completed the pass to Higuain....GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAL!!!! The Argentinians have scored. Wait, what? It was offside? That was a ruined celebration.
2nd half kickoff - Nothing so far, scores at 0-0
47th minute - It's definitely a Messi moment. HE SHOOTS, HE.....misses? Well again, the Argentina offence has failed to score.
60th minute - that was ugly! Gonzalo Higuain, the center of attention, has collided with Manuel Neuer. No foul given or cards, the players seem OK.
76th minute - Messi went searching for goals, but nothing. Still 0-0.
First Extra Time Kickoff - still 0-0, going to extra time again.
Second Extra Time Kickoff - Nothing major in the first extra time.
113th minute - Schurrle with a long pass, off the chest of Mario Gotze, he's going for a shot.....GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL! The Germans have won the world cup! Incredible playing by the Germans! The Argentinian hearts have been broken!

| I doubt Argentina could have scored with 7 minutes on the clock and the Germans going all out on defense. | |
